Artist: Nazgol Ansarinia
Nazgol Ansarinia (born 1979) lives and works and Tehran. Nazgol received her BA in Graphic Design from the London School of Communications and her MFA in Design from CCA San Francisco.
The artists work has been exhibited in a number of international exhibitions including Retracing Territories, fri-art, Centre D'Art Contemporain, Friboug (2007); Nightcomers, 10th Istanbul Biennial (2007), Breaking News, Paris (2008) and Drawn from Life,Green Cardamom, London (2008).
She is one of three short-listed nominees of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative program 2008.
Curator: Leyla Fakhr
Leyla Fakhr works as an Assistant Curator at Tate Britain and as an independent curator. She previously worked at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and in 2006 she curated Untitled (do not give your opinion), an exhibition of works by Nazgol Ansarinia.
Since 2007, She has worked with a not-for-profit organisation in London and collaborated on exhibitions with South Asian and Middle Eastern artists. She studied in Tehran and London, where she received her MA in Curation from Goldsmiths University in 2006.
Leyla Fakhr and Nazgol Ansarinia met while working at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 2004/5. Since a strong artist-curator relationship as well as profound friendship has underpinned their collaborations.
