James Cordahi has been working with Abraaj for almost two years in charge of communications, branding and sponsorship. He advises and executes on all the companies communications efforts, including media relations, conferences, website development, newsletters and annual reviews. He also advises and assists many of Abraaj’s 24 partner companies in their communications strategies, including GEMS - the largest privately owned school operator in the Middle East. Mr. Cordahi, 43, brings almost two decades of professional experience to his role at Abraaj, including six years at Bloomberg News as an oil and Middle East financial correspondent based in Dubai, and two years with Reuters helping manage a team of Gulf financial reporters.

Mr. Cordahi has also worked in TV and radio, and was for four years an economist with the London-based Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) covering the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Cordahi, who is married with three children, graduated from Cambridge University, England, has a diploma in economics from London’s Birkbeck University, and a Masters in Journalism from London’s City University.
