Prior to joining Abraaj, Mr. Nayyer Hussain was with Mashreq Bank where he managed the Retail Risk Management function, focusing on Portfolio Management, Credit Underwriting, Collection and Recovery.
 
Earlier in his career, Mr. Nayyer Hussein was the Head of Retail Risk Management in Citigroup working closely with their affiliates in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Russia from 1991 to 2005. He was also involved with the launch of the Retail Banking Business in Pakistan and Russia.
 
In Saudi Arabia, Mr. Hussain worked with Saudi American Bank, and managed to turnaround an adversely performing portfolio within a period of 24 months. He also led the Retail Banking team and facilitated the merger with United Saudi Commercial Bank, previously known as Saudi Cairo Bank).
 
Mr. Nayyer Hussain holds a Bachelor Degree of Science in Business Administration from Boston University USA.
