Maria oversees EY’s business unit that is the world leader in advising, guiding and recognizing entrepreneurs and high-growth companies. She helps clients at all stages of their entrepreneurial growth trajectory to build and scale, internationalize, attract funding and where appropriate, prepare for IPO or exit. With EY’s thirty-year history of working with entrepreneurs we are able to connect them to our unique, global network of professional advisors, clients and partners.

With more than 25 years of experience providing professional services to both private and public companies, Maria has led more than 20 IPOs in three continents. She is a trusted advisor to members of the G20, the World Economic Forum, the London Stock Exchange, the US Senate Banking Committee and the US Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as European Union and African governments.

She is a widely-recognized expert commentator on the trends that are driving global activity in the IPO market, entrepreneurship and innovation, and economic growth. Maria has testified before a subcommittee of the US House Financial Services Committee about the key findings of EY’s annual Global IPO Trends Report, and is regularly quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Financial Times, Kauppalehti, as well as news services such as Reuters and Dow Jones Newswires. She is also a regular expert appearing on CNBC, Bloomberg and other business channels to discuss her viewpoint on the economic climate.

An adept speaker at high-profile conferences on entrepreneurship and innovation; just this year she was a panellist for the Kellogg 2015 Corporate Governance Conference in Chicago and delivered a speech to the US-Europe Dialogue on Venture and Entrepreneurial Finance discussions in Brussels in the presence of the US Ambassador to the European Union. During her leadership of EY’s Strategic Growth Markets business, she has launched a number of initiatives to help support entrepreneurship globally. These include the Strategic Growth Forums that bring together high-growth companies from Palm Springs to Cape Town, Rome to Shanghai, and her acceleration program for women, Entrepreneurial Winning Women™.

She also heads up EY’s renowned Entrepreneur Of The Year® program worldwide that culminates in our World Entrepreneur Of The Year® conference and gala in Monaco each June. Here, over 1,000 EOY country winners, corporate leaders, business media and policy makers convene to share insights, celebrate their success and build partnerships that drive growth. Maria sits on the board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurs (NFTE) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) Steering Committee.
