Art Dubai is the leading international art fair in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia and takes place each year in March. Over the last ten years, Art Dubai has become a cornerstone of the region’s fast-growing contemporary arts community. As Lead Partner of the fair since inception, Abraaj unveils its Art Prize every year at the pre-opening reception on March 14th. The 2017 Abraaj Group Art Prize finalists – Rana Begum, Sarah Abu Abdallah, Doa Aly and Raha Raissnia – artists with a strong interest in architecture, urban space, and seriality, discuss with Prize curator Omar Berrada and Chair Dana Farouki how repetition and variation of pattern and rhythm allows them to explore aesthetic modes of coaxing reality into form.
